Wirral History and Heritage Fair
Early in March Vintage radio were involved with the (Wirral History and Heritage Fair) held in the beautiful building Birkenhead Town Hall. All day long, we spoke to many people about Vintage Radio and Alwn Hind with Sandy Cameron, plus other members during the day, carried out sterling work in obtaining contact details from the many dignitaries present together with a number of exhibitors representing over 70 prominent History and Heritage Organisations throughout Wirral and Merseyside.
Keep an eye on our schedules and you can listen to numerous delightful and interesting interviews with people involved, get up to date with projects, and events to be featured over the coming months on Vintage Radio.
This heavily attended annual event brings together all kind of different interests and hobbies encouraging members of the public to take part or learn and appreciate the vast history we have here on our doorstep. In addition, the opportunity to come along to the studios and open days with a view to contributing in some way to the diversity our radio station offers.
The very special day was opened by Bruce Macgregor Laird a member of the famous family with so much history associated with Birkenhead shipbuilding, he together with his lovely wife a very interesting distant member of the royal family of Tonga, spoke at length with Alwyn and very much interested in the Vintage Community Radio.

We have been looking at alternative ListenLiveplayers and as you will see we have introduced a new one that should work on all modern browsers. Its been tested on Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Safari, Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8 on Windows XP and Windows 7. It also works on Apple iPhone 4 (so should also work on iPad and iPods).
It has been tested on Android 2.1 smartphones but doesn't yet work.

Vintage Radio TV programme
Last year Vintage Radio were filmed by the Media Trust to be to in a new TV programme called Community Voices about community related uses of new digital media. It went out on the air on Monday 7th February 2011. It is also on You Tube and can be seen below. Take a look and see.
Vintage Radio on the TV
Last year Vintage Radio was filmed by a video crew from the Media Trust who had given us a generous grant to buy some new studio equipment earlier in the year..
The filming was spread over several days between September through to December last year and featured many of the Vintage Radio team. The Media Trust produced film will be aired on TV soon. the details are below:
Media Trust Film. Community Voices projects is going to be broadcast on the Community Channel on Tuesday 8th February 2011 at 6am (for the early birds!), 12pm and 7pm and at the same times again on Friday 11th February.

For those that might be interested I thought I start a blog of the sorts of technical problems and projects we have at Vintage Radio. I only enter stuff in this section at random, as and when the moment occurs.
