I can’t thank Vintage Radio enough

Student Kieron Priest completed his work experience during June with ‘Vintage Radio’ a radio station based in Birkenhead. During his time there he assisted with the daily broadcasting, whilst learning and observing studio etiquette. Kieron also had a chance to help organise play lists and record timings.

Kieron was later invited back to the studios on the evening of the 9th September, along with Work Related Learning Co-ordinator, Mrs Cottrell to be interviewed for the radio station by presenter Jim Walsh. Both Kieron and Mrs Cottrell were interviewed regarding work experience and why it is so important for students and employers alike, and what they felt were the benefits. The interview went out live to radio viewers and a disc of the show was later produced and delivered to the school for both Kieron and Mrs Cottrell to keep as a memento.

Kieron said: “I can’t thank Vintage Radio enough; it was fantastic experience which I thoroughly enjoyed and which I hope to do more of in the future”.
