Sounds Good To Me - Community Radio conference
July 2011 Vintage Radio, represented by Sandy Cameron - one of our producers, attended a very informative and educational Conference held in Bournemouth University, organised by John Cotcher and Age UK, The conference titled “Sounds Good to Me” was a fabulous get together of numerous Community Radio Stations, or rather a number of would be and hoped for Community Based organisation either presently working in the field of Radio Stations or moving in that direction.
The conference featured a number of “workshops” led by a variety of well-accomplished individuals imparting professional expertise and knowledge based on years of experience in their chosen fields.
This involved “How to make radio programmes, including interview techniques, finding and telling stories, developing or structuring radio output in the studio or out in the field.
Other workshops, touched on editing, voice coaching and presentation styles, how to get the best out of interviews in a bewildering number of and in a wide variety of locations.
The Facilities, Equipment and premises together with the attention to detail from the professionals in the Radio World, Reporting, or Journalistic Professionals and Staff of the University was of the highest quality, making the whole experience very well worthwhile for all concerned.
Many thanks to John Cotcher and all his colleagues for a fantastic event, the only pity was it was too short, packing so much into a one-day occasion, I like many others would have loved more time to cover everything.
