Would you like to be involved in one of the Wirral’s established community broadcast stations?
Vintage Radio broadcast for 9 days in February 2009 and won an award for doing so. We enjoyed it so much we did it again in November 2009, this time for over 3 weeks! Then we did it again in November 2010. However, since April 2010 we have been broadcasting on the Internet 7 days a week but we still need help to create and present new programmes and provide technical support for our presenters, programme maker, studio engineering and website design and management
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for presenters, programme makers and technical support for our studio.
If you’ve got some spare time, you’re aged 18 years or over and you’d like to learn new skills, meet new people then get in touch. We’re based at the YMCA in Whetstone Lane so you can reach us easily by car or by public transport.
Please note: We can’t afford to pay you but we are looking to build up our programming and production teams so we can make more programmes. We also need to add to our support staff team (both website and technical). Its also valuable experience for your CV.

Presenters / Programme makers
Interested in making broadcast programmes? We’re looking to feature drama, poetry, chat shows, music shows, current affairs, health programmes and lots more. Pretty much anything goes. Of you can create programmes that also don't breach OFCOM guidelines than the more the merrier. So whatever your interest we’d love to hear about it (and so would our listeners). There’s no bar on programme content. We have access to recording studios and experts who can help you make your programmes. We can provide some training but if you already have some experience in broadcasting so much the better.
You’ll be one of the back room team who provide support for the studio whilst on air. You’ll be checking that equipment functions correctly, solving and fixing problems that may crop up on air. You need to be familiar with Windows based IT system and networking, and even better if you knew about sound and mixing equipment with some experience in broadcasting. We are also looking for another pair of hands to manage our back office station programme scheduling software
Website design and management
You’ll ensure the smooth running of the web site and be responsible for its design and management. This includes, back up management, design, keeping the software up to date, managing and its functions.
